HaITI
Central Baptist is involved with the country of Haiti in several ways.
> After the earthquake in early 2010, Central sent funds through the Baptist World Aid to assist in relief efforts. the bwaid works with the two local agencies in haiti, the baptist convention of haiti and the baptist haiti mission. together they have 447 churches with 87,440 members.
>After a trip to Jimani, Dominican republic (30 miles outside of Haiti), Central member Skip Ingle connected the church with the need for a warehouse to protect the overflowing shipments of medical supplies coming into the country. The supplies were in danger of being wasted due to the upcoming rainy season and theft. he coordinated the construction, shipping, overland freight, and setup. God had other plans with Skip's obedience and the warehouse is now being used as shelter for orphaned children within haiti.
> Former Central member and sister to allison wentz is cbf missionary tori wentz. Tori resides in king george, virginia when she is not answering the call to minister to others around the globe. her call this past year has been to the hurting people of grand goave, haiti. This is where she is using her nursing skills to share the love and compassion of jesus christ.
Tori has spoken at central several times and we have followed her in prayer and in giving financial support to her continued christian work wherever god has choosen to lead her.
>Sacred heart catholic church has extended the invitation to central baptist to join them in their trips to boucan-carre, haiti. They take 3-4 trips a year to bring education and support services to children in that area. They have contact with a baptist school seeking alliance with a church in america that is also baptist. This is an excellent opportunity with an open door and We are presently seeking someone to go and find out more information. You can travel with the sacred heart members on any of their upcoming trips. if you are interested please contact mark moreland.
>many other members of central have gone to haiti with organizations such as the International Medical Alliance, one vision, and the baptist medical and dental fellowship to name a few.
Join us in praying for the light of the gospel to shine in the darkness of devastation. pray for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. pray for rest for the weary, and unity in helping. Pray god will be honored in every way.
