Paula Settle, a CBF Affiliate missionary in Nada/Powell County and Booneville/Owsley County works in two of the three poorest areas in eastern Ky. These aresa are part of the Together for Hope ministry of CBF. You can read about this emphasis at www.ruralpoverty.net.
Paula is currently involved in the school systems in both counties, serving on the Family resource Service Board at Bowen Elementary School and she is reading to 12 classrooms weekly at the Owsley County Elementary School. She also assists with the food pantry and clothes in Booneville.
Paula works with over 40 mission groups that come to both sites each year. She is leading Bible studies for womens groups in both counties and working with individual families on money management issues.
